What a good start to the new decade. Top price went to M Wyand for an in calf Hereford cow at £1050. Lincoln Red in calf cows from the same vendor traded at £870 & £860. Some of the store cattle were on fire and while there was no real strength, Simmental x Steers 14m.o topped at £920 for Ron Giles.

 A small show was well sold with cows at 133ppkg for D Jenkins, 118ppkg for N Rix, 112ppkg for P Cannon.


Breeding Cattle

(42) Calves & Stirks

A smaller than expected entry met a trade even dearer than last time. BB x Calves for CW Potter made £302 & £300 for bulls and £300 for hefs, FW Parsons sold BB x to £288 & AA x bulls to £270,FS Dann reached £218 for AA x bull calves and LG Brigham sold Her x Hefs to £195 & £180.
Stirks sold to £385 for a Lim x for Davis Dairies.

A good show of sheep today with the quality improving which is reflected in the averages and competing very strongly with all near livestock markets.

Good entry of lambs with keen bidding throughout with Nick Darrell topping at 215ppkg, Mr Fayers of Tuddenham at £100 per head.

Good entry of well meated ewes which was greeted with fierce bidding. Top price of £102 for Mr Fayers of Tuddenham.

Small entry, but are wanted. Topped at £75 for Messers G & WT Williams of Felbrigg.

Dispersal of a small flock of in lamb Pedigree Wiltshires from Gore Farms,
