STORE CATTLE

NEW MARKET RECORD - £10,200 FOR A COW AND CALF

It was like the erruption of a latent volcano and a nuclear explosion rolled into one - what a day !!

No one could beleive what was happening. It has to be said that the man from Essex delivered premium, premium, premium goods. Farmers are falling over themselves to buy stock and this is the result.
This new event in the principality of Norwich Livestock Market was a resounding success - "Ladies Day" with a lady judge, Ms Anita Padfield, who carried out her task ably and more than backed her judgement with the Champion, a magnificent Blue x Cow with a tremendous March born Limousin Heifer calf, shown by the man from Essex.  After much spirited bidding, Mr Liverton withdrew at £10,000 and left it to the Judge at £10,200 - A NEW MARKET RECORD

The man from Essex had an unbelievable quality entry of In Calf and just served young Cows. Buyers were eager, very eager to secure them and to be honest, who can blame them. The only money in farming now is in stock.
Autumn Calvers were basically £3,000 plus all day long to a top of £3,700.
Spring Calvers sold to £3,500.
Cows running with the Bull reached £2,750
Cows and Calves realised £4,000

Out of the remaining entries in the Breeding Show, a special mention to the Reserve Champion, a very smart young Pedigree Limousin Bull from D & S Wharton which sold for £6,500 to Mr Liverton

In summary many thanks to all the vendors, the buyers, the market staff and the Man from Essex, who once again employed the delightful Mrs Wright with her wonderful high class bistro style home made food.

In the Store Cattle section rather than prattling nonsense, I am just going to say Wow, Wow, and more Wow's.
Prices have now got dearer than ever. Just look at the highlights and remember that none of these are great big ones.
