An excellent entry of everything today and an excellent trade to match. No real strenght in the stores, but the stronger end, which everyone is looking for, were dearer, in line with the beef trade
Cows and Calves met a good trade - there is a bit of gloom and doom around cows and calves at the moment, but that was not evident here today
Onwards and upwardfor the farmers then !!

A big entry met a lot of demand and a good trade.
Top of the pops was a 15mo Pedigree Limousin Bull  from D & S Wharton at £3,000
Aberdeen Angus Cows and Calves from P.C.Thirtle reached £1830 with W.E.Chantry not far behind with Beef Shorthorns at £1760. In Calf Cows sold to £1350 from A.W. Merrells

Lots of customers yet again and a very firm trade. Top price went to Alex Dann with B. Blues at £345. RJ Barnes sold B.Blues to £302 and CB & SC Gapp to £302. Herefords from R. Paterson found a lot of bidders selling to £298.

This sale was advertised as a Breeding Sale so slaughter sheep low in numbers, but we had a decent Breeding Entry.
