A good entry today but lacked the quality most buyers are after. Too many smaller dairy bred or badly fed on offer. Vendors who had quality reaped the benefits. Under 10mo saw JC Watson sell B.Blue Heifers at £755 & S. Whiting £755 for Angus Steers. DN Gardner sold Charolais Steers at £915, Lim Steers £925 & Heifers to £890 whilst R. Giles sold Simmental Steers at £830, £940 & £1000. A.Hurn & Partners sold Simmental Heifers to £980 & Angus Heifers to £855. J. Everson sold Simmental Heifers to £880. JM Fryatt £860 for Limousin Steers & PJ Flowerdew £960 for Angus Steers

(1082) Sheep

A new buyer in attendence certainly brings forward more stock and a much sharper trade im prime and cull ewe sections. Marsh Farm topped at 221ppkg with Alburgh Lamb a close 2nd at 219ppkg. Several other pens also were 200p plus. Cull ewes saw them top out twice at £110 for JE Spratt & R. Smith
