140 STORE CATTLE AND CALVES

STORE CATTLE

A zone affected market went better than expected. Missing buyers were somewhat replaced and prices for all classes of stock were good. Farmers inside the zone are enduring a terrible time at the moment, so let us all hope that things change for the better in the future

BREEDING CATTLE

A small pre Christmas entry found plenty of competition, with Saler Cows to £990(running with a Bull) for Erpingham House Farms and Cows and Calves from KDR & LV Smith sold to £980

(55) Calves

The sellers and buyers were in Christmas mode and everyone appeared to have a joyous day, with some good calves and good prices. CW Potter topped the market with a BB Bull at £382 and a BB heifer at £380. David Parsons was next with Blues to £302, followed by RJ Barnes at £295.
Herefords from Alex Dann reached £280 twice and Angus got to £202 for R Burridge.
Smaller heifer calves were a little easier due to the Christmas period and buyers favouring stronger calves. Overall though, bearing in mind the troubles, a very pleasing day.

SHEEP (446)
