115 STORE CATTLE AND CALVES

STORE CATTLE

A much smaller entry than ideal, but a bit of charity around the edges cheered everyone up and some of the prices achieved were phenominal.
Many thanks to our brave judges, Mr Roger Long in the calves and Kevin and Alfie Badcock in the stores.
Many thanks to the Sponsors, Mills on Wheels, who performed a blinder.  Thanks to the vendors and buyers of the charity items, with all the proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation. Mr. Brian Ward with a beautiful carved walking stick, Mr. Tom Buck with 2 Wheaten Maran Pullets and Mr. Mike Keeler with a remarkable bottle of Whiskey, which will definately not increase in value over the next 50 years!! and Cliff Colman who very kindly donated 10% of his fancy heifer to the cause.
The Champion beast was a tremendous British Blue x 9mo Steer from Meg Atkins whichg sold to the judge for £1175.
Todays Reserve Champion went to E. Lankfer with a pair of posh Simmental x 9mo Steers selling at £990 to James Loveday.
Special mention to Meg Atkins with a 9mo British Blue x Heifer, which went for further breeding and produced a market record for that age group of £1675.
