The edge was off the trade for a largely mixed bag of cattle. Many cattlemen have brought cattle in off the marshes and there were a few missing today. However our big guns were firing and well bred cattle with shape were a good trade.

With dairy farmers pushing cows out all over the country, the market is still downward with non farm assured cows the most hit.
Cows sold to 194ppkg or £1458 (Tom Kemp Farms) and steers to 218ppkg for Messers Rash & Son

A fair trade at similar levels, held back at the moment with the struggling cull cow market.
The highlight of the day was a mice Pedigree Hereford Cow and Heifer Calf from Dr Leisa Freeman at £2,000

The bad weather does not help the calf trade and today was a little flat with a few buyers missing. However, quality always sells with CW Potter to £395 for Blues followed by Alex Dann at £340. Charolais from R. Paterson reached £280 and suckler bred from Raven Bros sold to £350

The last breeding sheep sale of the season brought buyers and sellers from further afield. Prime lambs very good trade, mainly due to the fact with the wet weather the lambs are not doing.
