228 STORE CATTLE AND CALVES

STORE CATTLE

A firmer trade, especially for the younger and with a bit of shape. There was no real quality or strength, but plenty of competition from regular and newish buyers.

Cows and calves were an improved trade, which is good considering the cull cow market. The beef trade marches on and with relatively low feed prices, cattle farmers may well be better placed than the arable ones.
