A shorter entry today but still very respectable after the recent bumper store cattle entries. Trade was firmer, especially in the calf section.
The beef trade marches on and is unstoppable at the moment, however everyones costs are high and have to be faced, so the industry needs to be careful and make sure that one of the pillars of sustainability - profit - is maintained.

More big money sales today, with a Pedigree 7yo Limousin Stock Bull from Helen Collins selling to £2600 and Charolais and B.Blue empty cows from JA Bradshaw-Hird to £1610 and £1570

What a difference a week makes ! As expected, the calf trade has jumped - however we did not expect that it would jump this high.
Strong Blues from CW Potter sold to £425, £422, £420. Alex Dann sold a Blue heifer to £370 while SC & CA Gapp sold a Blue bull to £322 closely followed by Tom Crawford with a Blue bull at £305.
Young suckler bred calves from Davis Dairies were almost all over £300 up to £330 for a Charolais. Black & Whites from Alex Dann reached £80

A good entry of sheep forward, but many not booked in. PLEASE BOOK IN ENTRIES with Tim 07437101163.  Prices again very good and I hope all farmers went home happy.

Plenty of good runs today, plus weight. James Case had a great run of 100+ Hoggs and averaging over 300ppkg. Top prices today went to Richard Little and Clive Bird.
