STORE CATTLE & CALVES (415)

Another record entry at Norwich which shows the power of teamwork and doing something useful. Food production is becoming more important which means that food producers will also become more important. Lets hope that the people who talk about it at least try to increase their level of intelligence so that they can converse with a cow.

Cull Cattle (46)

A few mofre about met a fantastic trade when faced with a falling market for barren cows. OTM Heifers sold to 237ppkg (£1552) for K & S Livestock and Cows reached 225ppkg for the same vendor or £1569 for JB Dring & Son.

BREEDING CATTLE

We did not reach the heights of ther previous market however, another marvellous entry of Hereford In Calf Heifers from Parker Cattle Ltd sold to £1325.

(86) Calves

The Norwich trade continues to outshine anywhere else. B.Blues made the top prices, with CW Potter at £368, Alex Dann to £350, £350, £330, £325 and Coston Hall to £305. Charolais from R. Paterson sold to £325 and Angus from FW Parsons to £320. Hereford Heifers again made more than the Bulls with R. Paterson selling to £255 and J & J Salter to £250

SHEEP (705)

Today we held our last breeding sale of the year with a good entry of breeding ewes and rams. Commercial sheep were back all week, but Norwich rallied and the returns were good in comparison.

Less entry but expected on the weeks trade in other markets, though I was pleased with our trade and the quality forward and topping for Bill Harvey at 254.60ppkg and £115 per head.
