A harvest market - but a quality one met another exceptional trade for everything. There is talk of a recession and difficult times ahead - not doubt correct in many ways however whilst people do not have to buy a new car, they do have to eat and this should be remembered. A lot of people make a living talking about things and they think they know everything. Farmers on the other hand have to do suff - real stuff -and this should not be forgotten.

Trade is less now,but only a bit less. Cows sold to 183ppkg for R Keeling and £1539 per head for EV Morton.

A very good harvest entry saw the return of some buyers, resulting in a very fast trade. CW Potter had some strong Blues selling to £445, £435, £415 ( x 3) and Angus to £348. Alex Dann also sold Blues to £352 and Angus to £252. R Paterson had Herefords up to £282 and Limousins to £255. Black and Whites from Alex Dann sold to £90.

Yet again hot weather dominated the market with stock coming in having no grass and little food. Today we held our first Breeding Sale which was well attended.
