For the time of  year and a harvest market - another incredible entry of livestock. Store cattle trade is again very strong, despite the rise in input costs and the beef trade is now wobbling slightly. However, everyone has to eat and with potential economic woes on the horizon, maybe agriculture is a good place to invest.

Trade is a touch easier but still very strong. Cows sold to 207ppkg or £1666 for Tom Kemp Farms. Overall average 182.38ppkg

Another fast trade, with an Aberdeen Angus Stock Bull from MJ Peck to £2,000 and Cows and Calves from Kiln Lodge to £1380

Slightly easier in places, although another good result for vendors overall. Alex Dann topped the market with a B.Blue Bull at £400 with CW Potter selling the same to £362. A Superb Limousin Bull from R Paterson reached £395 with A.Angus from D. Parsons to £272. Alex Dann to £275, Tom Crawford to £250. SC & CB Gapp sold Blues to £340 with Eddy Brigham reaching £240 for Herefords

Many Farmers haymaking and harvesting, shearing etc causing less numbers forward but for those who entered were rewarded with a keen trade.

Trade was brisk and fought over especially lambs that had been creep fed, topping at 352.90ppkg for Beth Atkinson and up to £168 for Bures Farm Partners.

The big flush came last week chasing the Festival which was over this weekend, though Ewes are still wanted for forthcoming week and selling to £140.00 for Bures Farm Partners. Todays entry contained many small lean sheep
