Store and Breeding Cattle

A great entry in terms of numbers although quality lacking in places and another fantastic trade for everything, with a special mention for calves and prime.  Richard Criddle led the way with B.Blue heifers to £1440 and £1270. One third of the calf entry made over £300 and over age Angus and  British White Steers sold to £1322 and £1036. B.Blue x in calf cows sold to £1950 for Sharon Morter.

Cull Cattle (17)

An unexpected good trade, with overage steers to 170ppkg and Cows to 145ppkg for NP Key. Top price to S Coe with a 6yo Angus Steer to £1322

Breeding Cattle

A hell of a lot of interest in quality stock with a B.Blue x in calf Cow reaching £1950 for Sharon Morter, who also sold a Romagnola x Cow and Calf for £1785.  Moores Livestock sold a Welsh Black Cow with young twins to £1320.

(99) Calves

Last weeks trade continues which is unbelievable with more buyers than calves again and some exceptional prices.  Top spot went to CW Potter with a B. Blue at £455 closely followed by Alex Dann at £450. Other notable B.Blue prices were Coston Hall at £395 and RJ Barnes at £385. David Parsons A.Angus reached £305 for a bull and £300 for a heifer, while R. Patersons superb Charolais calves rocked on at £330, £325, £310 and £285. Black and Whites from Alex Dann sold to £245.

SHEEP (738)

A good market at Norwich today with many people present ensuring a good trade throughout.

Lambs on the increase and could get dearer during the next few weeks. Today topping at 290ppkg for Nigel Harris and £136 per head for Neville Hines.

Store Lambs continue to be a serious trade with many good consignments today and topping at £145 for Ben Harveys Blue Faced Leicester Ewe Lambs.

BREEDING SHEEP (111)

Again Ben Harvey topping the Breeding Ewes with Blue Faced Leicesters to £235. Another highlight was from Attew Farms selling empty Texel x Suffolk Ewes from £115 to £130.
