500 Head of Cattle & Calves

Store and Breeding Cattle

The Quality Market of the Midlands and East Anglia strikes again !!
The largest cattle entry ever at Norwich and please take note - what quality and what a trade.

The Show and Sale of Cows and Calves for the Paul Davis Memorial Trophy was a huge success, with many thanks to the Judge, Danny Raven of Raven Bros. The show winner emerged as a Pedigree Limousin Cow with 2mo Pedigree Heifer Calf at foot from D&S Wharton. In the ring she sold to Colin Reeve for £4,000.  Henry Harvey & Son, Waxham Hall sold some of the best Limousin x Bulling Heifers you would find in the country to £3475, £2850, £2750, £2500, £2400, £2000 at 23-25 months old
Other notable Cow and Calf prices came from RM Shaw & AJ Goate who had Reserve Champion with a Pedigree Limousin Cow & Heifer Calf to £2500. G & A Shingfield sold Charolais Cows with Calves to £2160. Dr. Leisa Freeman sold a young Pedigree Hereford Cow & Calf to £1900.

Breeding Bulls were also in demand with JJ Lawrence & Son selling a Pedigree Simmental to £2300. Moores Livestock sold an Aberdeen Angus to £2200 with another Angus from C. Warrillow at £2100. A young Pedigree Limousin Bull at 12mo from D&S Wharton reached £2000.

The store cattle saw fresh faces and another fantastic trade throughout. Henry Harvey & Son again peaked at £1470 for an 11mo Limousin x Steer. Just feast your eyes on the highlights !
It looks as though there will continue to be an increased demand, half through necessity, for more home produced food and energy. Anyone with an IQ just above room temperature can figure this, although it appears that many of the clever people in the country cannot. Was it Voltaire who said "Common sense is not so common".
