There are 2 sides to a coin - on one side we have big increases in food, fertiliser and fuel costs, on the other we have the beef trade - at the moment we think the beef trade is winning !!
No strength today but small and medium types made serious money, so my two good friends Sherlock and the Baron thought.

2 Cows made 213ppkg up to £1746 for Christine Hanton and an overall average of 174.18ppkg

BREEDING CATTLE

A nice little entry with 4yo Limousin Bulls from Coston Hall Farms selling to £2600 and £2100.
Quality Simmental Cows and Calves from John Goddard sold to £2070 and £1990, with Keith Southey obtaining £1700.

(35) Calves

The calf trade rolls merrily along with very high prices achieved - as usual.
Top price went to CW Potter with a Blue Bull calf at £385. Alex Dann made £360 of Blues and CB & SC Gapp £315 for heifers. R. Paterson sold Lims to £340 as did David Parsons.
Angus Bulls sold to £325 for David Parsons and Heifers to £335 for CW Potter. Black and Whites to £215 for CB & SC Gapp.

SHEEP (1084)

Another busy day at Norwich with plenty of sheep forward and all keenly contested for. Buyers fighting for all catergories with good results achieved.

All buyers very keen today and wanting stock. Alburgh Lamb top of the tree with lambs to 320.90ppkg and Richard Beck selling to £145 per head
