Store and Breeding Cattle

An end of season type of entry, generally lacking in quality and no outstanding sorts forward - However there were plenty of buyers after them which resulted in a very fast trade. Even Sherlock commented that Norwich has bucked the trend again with more demand for plainer types

Cull Cattle (13)

A better than expected trade with clean heifers to 212ppkg for Capon & Son. Over Age Steers to 176ppkg for Tony Beeson and Cows to 140ppkg for Ian Stiff.

Breeding Cattle

A lot of interest today, with Cows and Calves from Moores Livestock to £1455 and £1425. A heifer and calf from Coston Hall sold to £1200 and an In Calf Angus Cow from S. Pilch to £1080.

(58) Calves

No one can touch us at the moment with regards to the calf trade. B.Blues to £460, £445, £445, £435 for CW Potter. Alex Dann sold Blues to £445 and £415. David Parsons sold A. Angus to £350, £340, £335, £330, £325. Young Charolais Calves from R. Paterson sold to £320, £310, £300.

SHEEP (946)

Many more people about today, some old and a few new faces being drawn in with the complete dispersal sale of in lamb ewes from Messers Attew & Sons of Hanworth. Good atmosphere about the market today with a 100% clearance of all stock

PRIME SHEEP (266)
A few more foward today and a bit more quality present. Medium to heavy lambs at a premium and topping at 300ppkg for Alburgh Lamb and selling up to £137 for Ruth Miller.
